This course is designed for students who have passed Level 2 and for hairdressers in the industry that have a basic working knowledge of hairdressing. Once completed the you will be able to perform more technical services with skilled techniques and have the knowledge to tackle problems.

Course information

The course consists of theory and practical work. You will need to complete eight units covering all aspects of advanced
cutting, styling and colouring, including some aspects of colour correction. You will have the opportunity to produce and take part in a catwalk show and competitions.

The units include:
– Health and safety
– Consultation
– Cut women’s hair
– Style and dress hair
– Colour hair
– Design skills
– Perm hair
– Colour Correction

One Academic Year

A combination of Tutor led demonstrations, student participation & practice, theory delivery and commercial salon that will led on to formative & summative assessments.

You will work on real clients in the commercial salons. Your theory will be assessed with online tests throughout the course. There will be some home study as well. You will develop customer service and practical skills in the commercial salons at the college.

Level 3 CG Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing

16-19 year olds will study Maths and/or English if this GCSE is not achieved on entry. Students will attend a 2 week block of Industry placement part of their full study programme.

Apprenticeship or career in the Hairdressing industry.

A Kit & Unifrom must be purchased within 6 weeks of enrolling for the course. Details of the Kit & Uniform are handed out during the enrollment process. Bursaries are available for those who are eligible – subject to individual assessment.
