You will need GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths and you may be asked to complete an initial diagnostic assessment. It may be possible to complete a Maths course alongside Access following assessment.
You will be working in college for two days weekly and need to be able to invest at least 20 hours additionally each week in independent study.
Very good IT skills are also required to complete and submit work.

The Diploma consists of a number of mandatory units requiring 60 credits to pass. Many universities are requesting that at least 30 credits are at Distinction grade and 12-15 are at Merit grade.
There are also units which are graded at Pass only. You will be assessed through written reports and essays, presentations, timed tests and assessments and participation in discussion and role plays.
It is advisable to be working as a teaching assistant or doing volunteering work in an appropriate setting alongside the course to be able to map experience and reflect on practice.
