It includes units which explore contemporary health topics, such as: equality, diversity and rights, anatomy, health, diet and nutrition, alongside career planning. At the same time, you will be extending your skills in communication and interpersonal interaction.

Ideally some work experience in a health and social care setting. Although you do not need it to complete the course, we recommend some voluntary work or a part-time position alongside, prior to applying to Access.
No formal qualifications are needed, however, English and Maths functional skills or ESOL are welcome. You must demonstrate enthusiasm and a commitment to the course.

Coursework, assignments, presentations, discussion, and practical work

You could progress to employment in residential care, hospitals, social care environments or career pathways to higher education.
