This course is design over one year and enables the learners to study over a range of sectors, which will support study for future development. You will develop transferable skills and sector specific skills such as Communication, Working with Others, problem solving, managing information and Self-management.
You will learn through classroom theory as well as practical skills and tasks. technical sessions.

Entry Requirements

This 1 year course requires four GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English and maths.

Course information

The course covers four mandatory units to develop core skills including:

– Being organised
– Developing a personal progression plan
– Working with other
– Researching a topic

Plus further six unit which are sector specific units designed specifically for the Health & Social Care including, but not exclusively:

– Finding Out About Health and Social Care Services
– Communication Skills for Health and Social Care
– Making Healthy Snacks When Caring for People
– Advising Others About Healthy Lifestyles
– Providing a Creative Activity When Caring for People
– Supporting Others to Use Adapted Equipment Safely

The programme will also include English and Maths to work towards GCSE level and Tutorials.

You will be assessed by a range of assessment methods suited to skills and sector based qualification at Level 1, All units will be assessed and graded a pass, merit or distinction by your tutors

Level 1 NCFE Diploma in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings

On achieving L1 Introductory Diploma in Health & Social Care could lead to BTEC Level 2 qualification, HSC Apprenticeship or Child Care level 2.
